Born in 1960, I was Master graduated at "Université de Provence" in Electronics and Command Control, then with a higher diploma, M. Phil. (D.E.A. : a Research degree), at "Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse III" in Astrophysics, Geophysics, and Space Technics, with a specialization in Information/Image Processing (with a strong emphasis on Space Systems) and Remote Sensing.

 

During my youth and my early adulthood, three pillars in the ecological field accompanied these periods of my life : Mountain, Oceans, and Wildlife. As soon as I was 12 years old, I practices free diving. Years going by, besides free diving, autonomous diving and spearfishing were new activities, although free diving always was my preferred sport. Recently, underwater - film - photography was a new activity.

 

I belong to a generation who witnessed major advances in the Ecology field, with great researchers or thinkers helping humankind to become aware of the biological diversity and the rarity of Earth resources. For example : May 1968 with it sometimes forgotten but very present component in Ecology ; big and frequent shore pollution by oil discharges during the 70s and 80s (e.g., Amoco Cadiz, Erika) ; the Kyoto Protocol ; disasters from nuclear reactors defects ; the IPPC and the attempt from its members - the scientific community - to prove a possible collapse of Life or living resources on Earth, and so on.

 

Major researchers or media people include, for France : Commandant Jacques-Yves Cousteau, Haroun Tazieff,  Nicolas Hulot (a media personality, in the 90s). In USA and UK, many scientists try to make people to become aware of Ecology : for example, let's remember Jared Diamond. Recently, many english-speaking actors and actresses talk point the planet concerns. Among many of them, may I cite Leonardo di Caprio, Joaquin Phoenix.

 

SHARK RESEARCH: Opal & Silver Coasts (EU) is the continuity of what I lived in the past - and today - as an individual,  engineer, or scientist : formerly focused on Space topics, but more and more ecology and environment oriented. Consequently, SHARK RESEARCH will be a Research activity, never made in the area as it is planned and managed,  that will lead my next years.

Né en 1960, je suis diplômé d'une Maîtrise en Électronique et Contrôle-Commande (Université de Marseille), et titulaire d'un D.E.A. (aujourd'hui : Master II Recherche) en Astrophysique, Géophysique et Techniques Spatiales (Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse III), en me spécialisant dans les domaines du traitement de l'information et des images, et de la télédétection spatiale.
