JAWS As You Never See It : Cristina ZENATO, The Shark Whisperer

Following the steps of the highly renowned scientist by the biology marine community as well as the divers community among others, namely Dr Eugenie CLARK, known as The Shark Lady ( https://mote.org/staff/member/eugenie-clark ), Cristina ZENATO, a high expert in diving with sharks, apex/top predators, "flocks", now is seen as The Shark Whisperer.

In fact, offering shark diving tours for tourists as well as courses, she dives with sharks since around 20 years, including cage diving in case of great apex predators (e.g., Great White Sharks).

One day, during a dive, she realized that a shark still had a hook in his or her throat. Wearing a metal suit over her wetsuit, she put one hand, then her arm, inside the mouth and throat of the shark, trying not to hurt her or him when removing the hook. It was a great success and, after the shark swam away, during further dives, this shark recognized and went back to Cristina ZENATO, totally confident, proving that sharks have a memory, either short or long, with a behaviour totally at the opposite of the mental image of "Jaws" inside the usual consciousness of humankind. Moreover, and astonishingly, the healed shark let Cristina pet her or him, or even what it is mind-closed to playing with the shark.

SHARK RESEARCH Opal & Silver Coasts (EU), even though in a very different way, has some of the same goals that Cristina ZENATO follows : understanding and conservation of sharks, ocean protection and restauration, decreasing the anthropic pressure upon the oceans (and more generally, the aquasphere), etc.
