Unfortunately, probably the most injured or dead people after a Shark attack, with intention or not, following a - human - provocation or not, involves the SURFERS. As SHARK RESEARCH Opal & Silver Coasts says, the first attractive signal that Sharks are sensitive is : NOISE. When a Shark is foraging, or is just swimming close to a spot/beach weare surfers are practising, he or she will teased by noise, and when surfers surf a wave, it could/will be interpreted as an escape. According to the fact that ONLY between 20 and 50% of Shark attacks are successful (namely, a hit), and because of this fairly low rate of hits some sharks take the risk to wash out, and so to die, a Shark may approach beaches with of water depth as low as 1m or below.

A few, or some surfers, were hit unfortunately. However, some of them are aware of the high role of Sharks as shaping the oceanic ecosystem. Among them too, some protect Sharks : and they made the decision to put on their surfboard the Fin for A Fin fins, to help stopping shark finning or shark cull in particular. Hereafter, a short video from the company.
